One of the great things about the Bell Harbor conference center is that in the Bay Auditorium (where the Blog Business Summit will be held) all attendees will be sitting in those fabulous Herman Miller Aeron chairs. We can all re-live those fabulous dot-com days, when they were (as Shuli Hallack joked) “the highlight of the Internet revolution.”
Those of you that are headed off to one of those other (more expensive) blog business events, think of us when you are sitting on one of those pain-inducing stacking chairs. ![]()

Speaking as one of the organizers of a cheaper conference (a mere $16.36 for you Yanks), it ain’t the price tag that determines the chair. We have comfortable-looking theatre-style seats, as well as some promising office chairs.

I bet one of those chairs is from a dotcom I worked at.

WiFi and laptop plugins are priority one. I’ll sit on a milk crate, as long as I can log into my mail

You know…with all the hype on the Aerons and with me sitting at a computer for 10 hours a day, it became my life’s goal to get the Aeron chair. After sitting in it for the first day (about 9 hours) I found that the rumors were indeed true- I felt no back pain. BUT I COULDN’T FEEL MY LEGS. The plastic waterfall edge completely stops circulation in your legs and what good is no back pain if you can’t feel your legs??
I switched the Aeron for the Leap chair and I would bet anything on this chair. It FEELS like a sturdy and durable chair and really validates the term “FULLY LOADED”. It has more features than the Aeron and the functions are easier to manipulate from a sitting position with more seamless changes. Any one in the market for an Aeron!? I would suggest you go try the Steelcase Leap Chair.
