Steve’s demystifying blogging now, there’s a good crowd, and we’re talking about business blogging. A quick survey shows that most are just learning about blogging and not blogging now.
And! Thanks for spending your Saturday with us.

Thanks for great discussions this morning.
I’m excited to take some of these thoughts back to the team and start kicking out some great content.

Thanks Matt. Let’s talk more about your thoughts after the presentation.

I have a question on search. DL - If you have a multi-blog site, how is search typically used? For example, when I’m on Blog site #2, should my search box only search Blog site #2? That seems best as far as usability goes, but I wonder if we can give users the option to search ALL BLOGS on your site or just the particular blog the user is currently on?

Denise,
That’s a great question. We use Google and Technorati for our searches and in the Google code, I can tell it to search across multiple blogs or one. It’s just a setting in the code. I don’t think you can tell Technorati to search across your blogs, but it’s really easy to do in Google. And, note that if you’re running sub blogs, Google will index all of those because they’re under the sam domain name.

Wish I could have been there. Will there be any media released from the seminar (in addition to the presentation slides) in the coming days? There’s been a little buzz about podcasting in recent weeks. Maybe if somebody taped it, it could be put out as a podcast.
Or maybe next time….

Scott,
I believe so. We’re taping it and and we’ll probably podcast hightlights or snippets. Panels are a bit tough, as the topics can vary and discussions digress.

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to the search within your own blog site. Do you know if Moveable Type allows you to choose to have your search box search all blogs or just the one you’re on? (Ideally, our main blog home page should search ALL of our blogs, but if you’re our Blog #2 site, it should just search that blog only.) Thanks…

ok. I follow you. I don’t use MT’s built-in search, and Google instead because MT’s search is, well, lacking. See this tech note on it, and I understand that MT by default searches all blogs and you tell it to search specific ones.
