The Passing of a Hero to the Blogosphere
It is with a heavy heart that I post that a true blogosphere hero has passed away. George Budabin was the father of one of my favorite bloggers, Andru Edwards of GearLive.
I met Andru at the last conference. He is a man of remarkable character and integrity, traits whose development he credits to his father. The entire blogosphere owes George a debt of gratitude for raising a son who has contributed so much to our community.
Andru is working to build a tribute to his father in the blogosphere by asking his bloggy friends to link to his remarkable post and also to the George Budabin tag on Technorati. I have done both here and would like to encourage you to do the same.

I will do that. I’m happy to see the blogosphere as a vital foundation for the entire spectrum of our lives, including death.
I recently posted a tribute to my tragically and suddenly deceased best friend, Gabor Ivan Kish.
I actually felt that aside from standing up and sharing my thoughts at his funeral service, my blog tribute was a very healing thing to do. The post got a lot of sympathetic comments that strengthened and encouraged me, for it was almost as bad as when I heard my dad died, almost that devastatingly intense woe and forlorn anguish.
To think of bloggers helping each other in extreme grief is an amazing positive in the midst of so much pseudo-bloggery and dubious digital marketing practices.
I could not find the “tribute” on that GearLive site. Is there a blog or other site the tribute appears on?
